Can I ask you a question?
How well are you protecting your time? Are you protecting it at all?
If this is a new concept to you, don't worry you're not alone.
Boundaries in life and leadership are huge yet often overlooked.
In order for you to accomplish your goals, you have to protect, respect, and leverage your time. As leaders, we are challenged to manage a lot of priorities, people, and tasks.
When I coach leaders, they often struggle with setting boundaries.
Learning how to protect your time is one small boundary you can set that will allow you to accomplish more and drive forward your organizational, personal, and team goals at a more effective pace.
Let me teach you how to do it.
Try this first: choose one activity or task that you need time to really focus.
It might be time to create your marketing plan, prepare for your employee's annual review, or organize your upcoming quarterly meeting.
Next: schedule in the time on your calendar.
This will help you to prioritize the time and keep your mind focused on the task at hand.
Lastly: ask for what you need.
This might look like telling your team that you'll be focusing for 1 hour on the marketing plan or it might be taking two hours out of the office to get creative in an uplifting environment.
Try these. There's no reason not to. I promise, it will be worth it.
